California's New Post-Production Tax Credit
California has created its first standalone tax incentive specifically for post-production, creating a major new opportunity for qualifying film and television productions to bring their post work to California.
Eligible productions may qualify for a 35% California tax credit on qualified post-production expenditures, with additional incentives available for certain qualifying expenditures.
And your production doesn't necessarily have to shoot in California to benefit.

One California Facility.
One Complete Post Workflow.
California's new standalone incentive is designed to encourage qualifying productions to perform their post-production work in the state, including productions that complete principal photography elsewhere.
That means a production can shoot where it makes the most sense creatively and financially, then bring qualifying post-production work to California.
For eligible projects, expenditures for California post-production services may help generate substantial California tax credits.
